Sage 50 Job Costing - Unable to Connect to Data Source

Sage 50 Job Costing is a software that helps you in handling your budget. It works efficiently with Sage 50 Accounts and Sage 50 Payroll. When you are trying to run your reports for the Sage 50 Job Costing, then you may see the message mentioned below getting displayed on your computer screen:

Method I: Operating System with a 32-bit processor
  • Log in to computer system with the complete administrator rights for the user.
  • Go to the Start button on the task bar.
  • Search the programs from the start menu and files box option.
  • Now type odbcad32 in the search field. Then press Enter.
  1. For Windows Vista users - Start button > Start Search box > type odbcad32 in the search field> press Enter.
  2. For Windows XP users- Start button > click on Run Command Window > type odbcad32 in the search field > press Enter.
  • Click on the system DSN tab and then press Add.
  • Select the Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb) > click Finish.
  • Go to the Data Source Name box and type JobCostingv5 bin.
  • Click on the description box and type Sage Job Costing ODBC Connection.
  • Click on OK and again press OK.
Method II: Operating System with a 64-bit processor
  • Log in to computer system with the complete administrator rights for the user.
  • Open My Computer or This PC and browse to C:\Windows\SysWOW64 and then double-click on odbcad32.exe file.
  • Click on the system DSN tab and then press Add.
  • Choose the Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb) and press the Finish option.
  • Go to the Data Source Name box and type JobCostingv5 bin.
  • Go to the Data Source Name box and type JobCostingv5 bin.
  • Click on the description box and type Sage Job Costing ODBC Connection.
  • Click on OK and again press OK.
